How does your nervous system work?

Your nervous system originates from your brain and is your body's command center. It controls your movements, thoughts, and automatic responses. It also controls your digestion, breathing, healing, ageing, and sexual development (puberty).

Diseases, accidents, toxins, and ageing can all damage your nervous system.

Since your nervous system controls everything you do, it must function correctly. Visit your doctor regularly, eat a healthy diet, avoid drugs, and only drink alcohol in moderation. The best way to prevent nerve damage from disease is to manage conditions that can injure your nerves, such as diabetes.

Nervous System and Stress

When you encounter a dangerous or stressful situation, the sympathetic nervous system is automatically activated without conscious control. As a result, various body functions are activated simultaneously, such as increased heart rate and glucose, pupil dilation, and decreased digestive activity. These are just some of the standard processes involved in the fight-or-flight response regulated by your sympathetic nervous system.

Ginkgo Biloba, vitamin D3, and Biotin are three supplements that can help keep your nervous system healthy or manage symptoms of nervous system disorders.

Benefits of Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba is a natural extract derived from the leaf of the Chinese ginkgo tree. It's sometimes referred to as an ancient fossil because it's the only surviving member of an old order of plants.

Ginkgo biloba works by increasing the activity of antioxidants throughout the body. Research shows that ginkgo biloba may help treat anxiety due to its antioxidant content. Ginkgo biloba contains high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, compounds known for their powerful antioxidant properties.

Ginkgo biloba also has the potential to treat depression because of its anti-inflammatory effects. In fact, most of ginkgo biloba's cognitive benefits that researchers have discovered are based on its anti-inflammatory properties that increase antioxidant activity, lowers oxidative stress, and improves circulation.

Ginkgo biloba may also:

  • Improve symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer's

  • Help prevent and treat ADHD

  • Help maintain eye health

  • Help treat migraines

  • Improve sleep quality

Germany and other European countries have introduced ginkgo biloba extract as a medication because of its many studied benefits.

Ginkgo Biloba by Nature's Herbalmax is made from 100% natural, organic ginkgo biloba.

As with any herbal supplement, there are risks involved. Ginkgo could lead to serious health complications if you are allergic or taking certain medications.

If you're thinking of including ginkgo in your regimen, be sure to consult your doctor first.

Benefits of Vitamin D

Vitamin D3, also known as the "sunshine vitamin," is a form of vitamin D known as cholecalciferol, critical for the development and normal functioning of many organs in your body.

Vitamin D3 helps absorb calcium and phosphorus, which helps keep your bones strong.  It also helps your immune system and mood and contributes to heart health and weight loss.

Your skin produces vitamin D3 when it's exposed to sunlight, but you can also get vitamin D from food and supplements. In fact, evidence suggests supplements are just as effective as sunlight and food sources, and it's the easiest way to ensure you're getting enough vitamin D3 every day.

Symptoms of Vitamin D3 Deficiency

  • Muscle weakness and aches

  • Weak bones

  • Fatigue

  • Hair loss

  • Depression

  • Hypertension

  • Inflammation

  • Arthritis

  • Eczema

Vitamin D3 and Mood

Studies have shown that clinical depression is often linked with vitamin D deficiency. However, it's not clear whether the deficiency contributes to depression or depression changes behaviour (e.g., diet, time outdoors) and therefore causes the deficiency.

Researchers have found evidence that raising vitamin D levels helps alleviate symptoms of depression.

Vitamin D3 and Immune Health

Vitamin D plays a role in immune health, but it's incredibly complicated. There are two types of vitamin D: D3 and D2.

Vitamin D3 is what your body makes when exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D2 is present in some plants, such as mushrooms and yeast.

Human beings have two types of immune systems: the innate, which we're born with, and the adaptive, which evolves as it's exposed to various pathogens, and it's the one responsible for fighting bacterial and viral infections, including COVID-19.

NOTE: This does not mean that Vitamin D can protect someone from contracting COVID-19.

If you're deficient in vitamin D, it's suspected that your acquired immune system might suffer. In fact, not getting enough vitamin D is linked to a higher risk for chronic autoimmune diseases, including multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, and Crohn's disease.

Overall, people who are deficient in vitamin D might not fight infections and people with healthy levels.

Vitamin D3 and Bone Health

The primary function of vitamin D is to help support normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D helps absorb calcium, which supports the formation and maintenance of strong teeth and bones.

Calcium is stored in your bones and provides calcium through mineral resorption when serum levels of this essential element drop. Vitamin D also increases the reabsorption of phosphate by the kidney tubule and may directly affect the osteoblast, the cell which forms bone.

Your body will extract calcium from your bones if it doesn't have enough vitamin D.

Biotin.png

Benefits of Biotin

Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 and vitamin H, is one of the B complex vitamins that help the body convert food into energy. Daily intake of biotin is necessary because it is a water-soluble vitamin, which means that it is not stored in your body.

B vitamins, specifically biotin, help keep your skin, hair, eyes, liver, and nervous system healthy. Biotin is also important for embryonic growth during pregnancy.

Biotin even helps maintain the normal function of your nervous system and may help reduce nerve damage in people who have diabetes and people undergoing dialysis for kidney disease.

If you're thinking of including biotin in your regimen, be sure to consult your doctor first.

Biotin by Nature's Herbalmax is made from high-quality biotin formulated to deliver maximum absorption.
