Benefits of Aloe Vera

The use of aloe vera can be traced back 6,000 years to Egypt, where it was found on stone carvings and known as "the plant of immortality."

Aloe vera contains many vitamins and minerals vital for the proper growth and function of all body systems, including your hair and skin.

Aloe Vera for Haircare

Aloe vera is gentle and preserves the integrity of your hair, and it can even make your hair shinier, softer, and healthier.

  • Deep cleans oily hair: Aloe vera cleanses the hair shaft efficiently, removing excess sebum (oil) and residue from other hair products.

  • Strengthens and repairs hair strands: Aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E, which promote healthy cell growth and shiny hair.

  • May promote hair growth: Washing your scalp and conditioning your hair with aloe vera may slow down hair loss and breakage.

Aloe vera also contains vitamin B12 and folic acid, which can keep your hair from falling out. Plus, the vitamins in aloe vera suggest that it might work to repair sun damage to your hair.

Aloe Vera for Skincare

The gel-like components of aloe vera heal the skin from minor ailments, including sunburn, minor cuts, and small abrasions. When used correctly, aloe vera can help with a variety of conditions that might affect your skin.

  • Soothes sunburn: Aloe vera gel contains compounds called polysaccharides that encourage skin repair and the formation of new skin cells. The gel also contains a pain reliever called carboxypeptidase, which may be why aloe vera is so soothing.

  • Relieves skin irritation: Aloe vera gel contains compounds that suppress inflammation.

  • Adds moisture: Aloe vera gel helps to hydrate the skin by locking in moisture.

  • Fights acne: Aloe vera has powerful antibacterial properties and contains salicylic acid, an exfoliant that helps unclog pores. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory on the oil glands that cause acne.

  • Treats cold sores: Aloe vera is an antiseptic that helps inhibit fungi, bacteria, and viruses. It may also help speed up the healing by creating antibodies the immune system can use to fight the cold sore virus.

  • Slows signs of ageing: Aloe stimulates fibroblast activity, which promoted collagen production and elastin fibres that make the skin less wrinkled and more elastic. The zinc in aloe vera acts as an astringent to tighten pores, while antioxidants such as vitamins C and E help prevent the formation of free radicals.

  • Prevent (and possibly fade) dark spots: Aloe vera gel prevents tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for skin discoloration and suppressing UV-induced hyperpigmentation and the skin-damaging effects of sunburns. This may also help to prevent dark spots.

  • Exfoliator: The salicylic acid in aloe vera acts as an exfoliator, helping to gently slough off dead skin cells.

The Aloe Vera + Vitamin E by Nature's Herbalmax helps hydrate and rejuvenate your skin, leaving it soft, shiny, and radiant. It also helps stimulate hair growth while adding vigour to prevent hair loss.

Simply open a softgel and apply the aloe vera + vitamin E oil to your skin and hair as needed.
