PROTECT YOUR HEALTH

The best way to get your vitamins is through food. But even your food may not be enough. Even people who eat large amounts of fruits and vegetables can be vitamin deficient because most of the foods we eat these days come from a nutrient-depleted land, or have been depleted of nutrients by the time we eat them.

Supplementing your diet with the right vitamins can provide your immune system with the support it needs to keep you healthy.

How can we help our immune system?

Coconut Oil.png

Coconut Oil for Immune Health

Coconut oil is considered a superfood due to its versatility and health benefits, namely its healthy fats called medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs). These unique fats include caprylic acid, lauric acid, and capric acid.

About 62 percent of coconut oils are made up of these three MCFAs, and 91 percent of the fat in coconut oil is healthy saturated fat. This fat composition makes it one of the most beneficial fats on the planet. The MCFAs in coconut oil are a perfect energy source because they are converted into fuel in a 3-step process, while other fats go through a 26-step process. This is the reason why MCFAs are easier to digest and are not easily stored as fat in your body.

In Aryuvedic medicine, coconut oil has been recognized for more than 4,000 years as a healthy oil that provides our body with nutrition and strength. Today, there are more than 1,500 studies showing that coconut oil is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet.

Coconut oil helps your immune system by acting as an antimicrobial agent that helps activate the anti-inflammatory components of your body's immune response. The lauric acid in coconut oil has been shown to reduce candida, fight bacteria, and create a hostile environment for viruses.

Vitamin E for Immune Health

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps boost levels of an immune cell called T lymphocytes (T cells). T cells are white blood cells that manage immune reactions to foreign particles and prevent autoimmune conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and type 1 diabetes. They also attach to and kill cells infected by bacteria and viruses.

Vitamin E also helps maintain the strength and vitality of T cell membranes, and helps them multiply properly. Since T cells decrease with age, an optimal intake of vitamin E helps maintain a well-functioning immune system.

Vitamin E deficiency obstructs immune response by altering the functions of T cells and antibody production. Vitamin E supplementation can help reverse these effects.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble nutrient (which means your body stores it and uses it as needed) that functions mainly as an antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress and accelerated ageing caused by free radicals. It can also lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and dementia.

Most research on vitamin E's role in immune response has focused primarily on T cells, but scientists believe vitamin E may regulate other types of immune cells.

The tolerable upper intake levels of a supplement are the highest amount that most people can take safely. Higher doses might be used to treat vitamin E deficiencies. NEVER take more unless prescribed by your doctor. The recommended daily amount (RDA) for adults 19 years and older is 1500 IU (1000 mg) a day.

Vitamin E 1400 IU (1000 mg) by Nature's Herbalmax is intended for adults aged 19 years or older and is made from the highest-quality sources of vitamin E.

THERAMAX for Immune Health

Vitamins and minerals don't actually "boost" your immune system. It's an inaccurate statement because your immune system's natural response to fighting viruses and bacterial infections is to increase your body's temperature, produce mucus, and so on. If your immune system is constantly boosted, you'd feel constantly unwell.

However, certain vitamins and minerals can help keep your immune system healthy, so it's ready to fight infections.

Nutritional deficiencies can impair immune response. Eating foods rich in immune-supporting nutrients and getting good sleep can strengthen your immune system. But even "healthy" eaters don't eat the proper foods for adequate absorption of nutrients. A good immune-supporting multivitamin can help fill these common nutritional gaps.

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in your body. It helps transport nutrients across cell membranes.

Vitamin C plays an essential role in creating white blood cells that help fight infection and disease.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps boost T lymphocytes (T cells). T cells are white blood cells that manage immune reactions to foreign particles.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) helps improve the body's ability to withstand stressful conditions, and it helps maintain your muscle tone along the walls of the digestive tract — where much of the immune system is located.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) also plays a crucial role in protecting and maintaining the mucous membranes in the digestive system. It's also a powerful antioxidant.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) improves communication from 'messenger' cells called chemokines, which direct white blood cells to areas of infection or damage.

Zinc plays an essential role in the development and function of many immune cells and may help combat infections and aid wound healing.

THERAMAX by Nature's Herbalmax has been formulated to deliver these seven essential vitamins to give your immune system the support it needs to help fight off infections and keep you healthy.

Garlic Oil.png

Garlic Oil for Immune Health

Garlic supplements are a popular way of managing high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and atherosclerosis. They may also provide immune system support, particularly for fighting cold and flu infections. Garlic oil is often used as a topical treatment for fungal and bacterial infections such as athlete's foot.

Several studies indicate that garlic possesses multiple immune-related benefits, such as antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal activity.

Garlic appears to support immunity by:

  • Protecting from respiratory infections. Garlic seems to reduce the symptoms and lowering the chances of catching a cold, flu, and other respiratory infections.

  • Enhancing overall immune function. Garlic appears to stimulate immune cell activity, such as natural killer (NK) cells, macrophages, lymphocytes, dendritic cells, and eosinophil. It may also increase or inhibit the production of various cytokines that control immune response and inflammation.

Garlic can also increase the number of virus-fighting T-cells in your bloodstream.

Garlic contains allicin, an active compound with antimicrobial properties that help fight many parasites, bacteria, viruses, and fungi such as Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, and Giardia lamblia.

Garlic Oil by Nature's Herbalmax is derived from fresh, organic garlic bulbs to deliver a potent dosage that helps keep your immune system strong and healthy.

Garlic + Zinc

The high sulphur content in garlic makes it a good cold and flu fighter. The sulphur in garlic helps your body absorb zinc, which also helps keep your immune system healthy. Try Zinc Max by Nature's Herbalmax for even more immune system support.

Zinc for Immune Health

Zinc plays a role in the growth and functioning of immune cells. The cells that protect your body from viruses and bacteria — lymphocytes, neutrophils, and macrophagescan't perform properly if you don't get enough zinc. It's even more important to watch your zinc intake as you get older because your immune system weakens as you age.

In fact, the entire respiratory system is affected by ageing. The chest walls become stiffer, the respiratory centers become less sensitive, and the inspiratory muscles weaken.

Older adults are more susceptible to flu and pneumonia because of their ageing lungs.

Zinc Deficiency

Zinc deficiency is more common in people who have digestive disorders or chronic liver or kidney disease. People on plant-based diets, such as vegetarians and vegans, are also prone to zinc deficiency because zinc from plant-based sources has a lower bioavailability than zinc from animal-based sources.

Zinc deficiency symptoms include loss of appetite, loss of sense of taste or smell, diarrhea, decreased immunity, poor wound healing, and depressed mood.

Conversely, too much zinc can cause nausea and vomiting and limit iron absorption causing iron-deficiency anemia. However, it takes long-term overconsumption of zinc supplements to cause toxicity. The tolerable upper intake level of zinc is 40 milligrams for adult men and women.

Zinc Supplements

If taken as recommended by a health care professional, zinc supplements can help reduce the duration of the common cold between 28 and 40 percent.

Ensuring you get enough zinc each day can limit the decline of immune function and help keep your immune cells in good shape.

Zinc Max by Nature's Herbalmax delivers 24mg of zinc oxide per softgel, giving you 220% of the recommended daily amount (RDA).
